Village Law, Section
7-718, provides the authority for the establishment of a planning
board within any village. The members are appointed by the mayor
subject to approval of the board of trustees pursuant to Village
Law.
The
function of a planning board is advisory unless a local law
specifically grants authority to a planning board to approve site
plans, subdivision plats, special permits, review zoning amendments
or other development approvals. The advisory function of a planning
board includes the authority to make reports and investigations in
connection with the planning and development of the village and the
development of the village and the development of a “master plan.”
The Comprehensive Plan or "Master
Plan" committee held it's first meeting on March 11, 2002
to help develop a comprehensive plan for the Village of Liverpool. The original members of the committee
were as
follows: Co-Chairman- David Murray, Marlene Ward- Mayor, Bill Bell,
Moe Clayton, Bob Gaetano, Mike
Hennigan, Yvette Hewitt, Linda Hickok, Nick Kochan, Alice Melvin,
Dick Naselli, Joe Ostuni, Mike Romano, Tom Tartaglia,
Dan Weidman. Aino Parlo, Joe Ehle and Bill Mudridge, Mike Bearup.
The Comprehensive Plan was officially
adopted by the Village of Liverpool Board of Trustees in August
2006. A copy of the plan can be viewed at

Village Law provides for a five or seven member planning board
consisting of staggered terms of five years for five member boards
and seven years for seven member boards.
The
current Planning Board members for the Village of Liverpool are :

Planning Board
meetings are held the fourth Monday of each month at 7:00 PM at the
Village Hall, 310 Sycamore Street, Liverpool.
Agendas are posted on this website.
Applications to the Planning Board must be submitted two weeks prior
to the meeting to be placed on the agenda. Check this site for
meeting cancellations. |
